Anthropology of Light-Seth Riskin

It was interesting listening to the speech by Seth Riskin. I liked how he talked about holography, a technique that allows the light scattered from an object to be recorded and later reconstructed so that it appears as if the object is in the same position relative to the recording medium as it was when recorded. The image changes as the position and orientation of the viewing system changes in exactly the same way as if the object were still present, thus making the recorded image (hologram) appear three dimensional. I liked the showcases he had in the gallery and how the color of light was changing in different perspectives I would look at it.

Schematic Design, Concept Update

The relationship between the patients, the nurses and doctors(clients) is a social collaborative effort. They work together for a main purpose which is to get better and everyday is a healing process. The male and female(clients(nurses, doctors) bird work together to provide a nest for the little one until the bird (patients) is capable to fly on its own and leave the nest. The group room was really plain and everybody was facing toward the tv. I was thinking that the patients would have engaged more in conversation and activites if they facing each other in a circle. The tv can be located in the ceiling and the board games in the middle table. In the right up corner there is a quick sketch for the patient rooms in the D ward.

Concept

Embracing the healing process of the client (patients) by introducing to them softer materials, warm colors, form and order where they can captualize themselves in the space that they occupy [space within a space].
